Industrial rubber cable applications
Industrial rubber cable is used where a standard PVC cable may not provide the flexibility or environmental protection required by the installation. Common enquiries include generators, temporary distribution, construction equipment, workshops, port machinery and mobile industrial equipment.
The correct family depends on whether the cable is fixed, moved occasionally, reeled or flexed repeatedly. Oil, UV, water, abrasion, ambient temperature and mechanical load also need to be described. The general term “rubber cable” does not identify one universal construction.
H07RN-F and alternative constructions
| Selection point | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Reference type | H07RN-F, another harmonised designation, or a custom project construction |
| Electrical duty | Voltage, current or equipment power, conductor size, core count and length |
| Movement | Fixed, occasional flexing, mobile use, reeling or another defined duty |
| Environment | Indoor/outdoor, oil, UV, water, abrasion, chemicals and temperature |
| Termination | Bare cable, connector assembly, gland requirements and earth conductor arrangement |
| Documents | Required marking, datasheet, test evidence and packing information |
H07RN-F is a harmonised 450/750 V cable designation used for demanding flexible applications. It should not automatically be described as suitable for permanent submersion, every chemical, continuous reeling or every national installation rule. Those requirements need a specifically confirmed construction.
Sizing and installation checks
Conductor size is selected from load current, cable length, allowable voltage drop, ambient temperature, grouping and installation method. Bending radius and pulling or tensile load should be checked against the final datasheet, especially for larger cross-sections and mobile equipment.
Standards and documents
Buyers may request H07RN-F, IEC 60245 or EN 50525-2-21 references. These are handled as technical requirements for the ordered cable. Final marking, compliance documents and any approval evidence are confirmed before production; the family name alone is not a certification claim.
RFQ checklist and response
Send the application, voltage or equipment power, current, conductor size, core count, cable length, movement, environmental exposure, termination, quantity, packing, destination and required documents. Every finished length undergoes 100% continuity testing before shipment.
With a complete RFQ, we provide a technical quotation within 24 hours.
Frequently asked questions
Is every H07RN-F cable suitable for permanent immersion?
No. Permanent immersion requires a construction specifically evaluated for the water type, depth, temperature and installation duration.
What is the difference between flexible and reeling duty?
A flexible cable may allow handling or occasional movement, while reeling and repeated dynamic flexing impose additional conductor, lay-up, sheath and mechanical requirements.
