Industrial submersible pumps may need more than a standard motor power lead. Temperature switches, PTC or PT100 sensors, bearing-temperature devices, leakage electrodes and moisture detectors each need conductors between the submerged pump and the monitoring equipment. This product combines the required motor power conductors, protective earth and sensor or control cores in one custom underwater pump cable.
Unlike a standard stocked H07RN-F, H07RN8-F, flat pump cable or basic 3-core/4-core pump cable, this is normally engineered to a customer-supplied pump specification. The final construction must follow the pump manufacturer’s wiring diagram and the electrical, dimensional and environmental requirements of the installation.
Built Around Your Pump Configuration
This product is produced to specification rather than offered as one fixed warehouse configuration. A buyer can define the number and size of power cores, the protective-earth conductor, the number and size of control cores, twisted or screened pairs, individual or overall shielding, cable length, cable outer diameter, jacket material and marking.
The review also considers operating temperature, immersion depth, exposure to water, sewage, oil or chemicals, the cable-gland size and the pump cable-entry dimensions. Materials and layers are selected only after these inputs are known. Custom cable configurations can be manufactured according to customer-supplied pump specifications, wiring diagrams and cable-entry dimensions, subject to engineering confirmation.
Typical Construction
Conductor
Flexible stranded bare copper or tinned copper can be considered. The conductor material, class and cross-section are confirmed for the final cable design.
Power Core Insulation
EPR, HEPR, EPDM or another insulation may be selected according to the electrical rating and operating conditions. The material is configurable; no one insulation applies to every construction.
Control / Sensor Cores
Flexible copper conductors with individually identified insulation can be included for pump monitoring. Core identification and circuit assignment must match the approved wiring documentation.
Optional Control Pair
A twisted pair or screened twisted pair can be incorporated for monitoring signals when required by the pump system. This layer is optional and depends on cable design.
Protective Earth
A dedicated PE conductor can be included according to the pump’s electrical configuration and applicable project requirements.
Screening
Copper braid, copper tape, individually screened control pairs or overall screening may be considered where additional EMC control is required. Screening is optional, and its construction and termination must be agreed for the specific system.
Inner Filling / Bedding
Water-resistant elastomeric filling or bedding may be used to support the required roundness and internal arrangement. It is optional and depends on cable design.
Outer Sheath
A heavy-duty elastomer, CPE, rubber or another customized compound may be selected for continuous or prolonged submerged operation. Suitability for the actual water, sewage, oil or chemical exposure must be confirmed for the final compound.

What Are the Control Cores Used For?
Motor Temperature Sensors
Additional conductors can connect thermal switches, PTC devices or other winding-temperature monitoring devices to the external pump-monitoring system.
Bearing Temperature Sensors
Larger industrial pumps may monitor bearing temperature. Dedicated signal cores can be allocated when the pump wiring diagram requires them.
Leakage / Moisture Sensors
Control cores can carry signals from water-ingress, seal-failure, leakage or moisture detection devices installed in the pump.
PT100 / Temperature Sensors
Dedicated conductors, and where required a suitable pair arrangement, can connect PT100 or other temperature sensors used for more precise measurement.
Pump Monitoring Systems
Signal conductors can link the pump’s installed sensors to external monitoring or protection equipment. The actual circuit design, conductor assignment, screening and termination must follow the pump manufacturer’s wiring diagram and monitoring-system requirements.

Can power and sensor conductors be combined in one submersible pump cable?
